N. V. Gogol’s heritage in Azerbaijani literary studies

The paper discusses the problem of interaction and mutual influence of different countries’ literatures. In this vein the article examines the perception of N. V. Gogol’s works as a realist author and satirist who contributed to the development of Azerbaijani literature, literary translation and criticism. The author also analyses the research which formed the basis for the development of Gogol studies in Azerbaijan.
