The article focusses on the analysis of the new lexical items which have as their motivation base the name of the presidential candidate who later became the newly elected sixth President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In particular, the peculiarity of semantics and connotative potential of these words have been revealed. Linguistic properties of these new lexical items have been characterized as well as semantic relationships between them have been identified. Different intra-and extralingual factors have been proved to influence the formation of the words from both proper nouns and common nouns. The former factors reflect the ontology of the language as a system together with the nominative and expressive nature of the language, while the latter factors represent the political existence of the state with all its versatile aspects.
