The article analyzes the implementation of the plot of A. Kurkov's novel "Gray Bees" on the stage of modern Ukrainian "Theater on the Hem" (December, 2019) and analyzes the specifics of postmodern presentation of a large novel plot in a variation of a dramatic production in two acts. Within the intersemiotic discourse of interaction of such genres as novel and drama, the peculiarities of unfolding the plot of the novel as a dramatic story and its processing for stage embodiment are considered. The traditional views on the categories of drama-novel and their canonical understanding as defined and classified by literary studies texts are also analyzed. The idea of revising the category and concept of the genre canon of works and its dependence on social life and the impact on the literary text of non-literary factors of its perception is also considered.
